It's hard to believe that Bryan and I were married for 9 years, today. Love him more today than I did the day we married. (I know, is that even possible? It is.) I like to think that the role models in our lives, other family members, parents and grandparents, have helped us through our adventures. We've learned an incredible amount from each of them. My grandparents sent us an Anniversary card in 2007, less than a month before my grandpa passed away. It meant a lot to me then, but it means even more to me now. It was the last piece of communication that was "signed" by him, and I feel blessed that it was such a beautiful card. (Because I KNOW he's the one that picked it out, right Grandma?) :) At any rate, I've kept the card close, and refer to it often. It truly does epitomize the hard work, patience, and understanding a marriage takes. Throw a little love in the mix, and you've got it made.

9 Years
Happy Anniversary Sweetie! I love you!
God bless the couple
who honor their marriage
long after the wedding has passed,
Because in this world
where so many don't make it,
it takes something special to last.
It takes a commitment,
a whole lot of laughter,
the words "I forgive you," and more.
It needs some "I'm sorry,"
some warm, tender touching,
and care for the one you adore.
God bless the couple
who hang in there trying
when it seems like the world's bailing out,
For this special couple
believes in a promise
and knows what true love is about.
With so many special thoughts of you
on your anniversary.
Praying God will bless your year
with every happiness.
